WELCOME JAMES FISHLOCK

We’re excited to announce the appointment of James Fishlock to the Club as Pontypridd United Women’s Head Coach/Manager.

James joins us with a wealth of experience in the Womens game and has just undergone the highly regarded FAW UEFA A Licence.

James has previously worked with Cardiff City Ladies; Taffs Well and Cyncoed Ladies - so he will be familiar with some of the long standing players and staff. Fishlock will commence his role planning pre-season for the 2022/23 season and be looking to build upon the success of Fern Burrage-Male’s side from last season while she is on maternity leave until January 2023. Pontypridd who finished 5th last season overall and winning the inaugural Plate Conference League will be looking to continue to establish themselves as a top side in the Adran Premier.

We caught up with Fern before her maternity started about the appointment “I’m very happy the Club have appointed James as Head Coach/Manager, he knows some of the players and staff which will make it an easy transition for him to join the team and hit the ground running. He has extensive experience of working within the female game which is a huge advantage and he has a proven track record of working with elite/international players. I’ve worked with James for a number of years and can now rest easy knowing the team is in safe hands. I wish James and the team the best of luck in the first part of the season and I look forward to supporting from the sidelines”
